About this limited edition photograph:

The photograph “Coldwater Cave- 94 Feet Down” was created in a private cave located in Winneshiek County, Iowa.

There are two man-made entrances to get inside this private cave. This entrance is used by the Iowa Grotto (National Speleological Society). Above ground is a cave shack compound. Once a caver is suited up they must descend this 94 ft long ladder to enter the cave. 

I created this photograph by setting up my Canon 80d camera with a Tokina AT-X 116 PRO DX II lens on a tripod in the flowing cave stream. I used my ElSpeleo Rescue 2200 caving headlamp to cast light onto the cave, shaft and ladder during the 61 second exposure.
