About this limited edition photograph:

The light painted photograph “Undisturbed Tranquility” was created at Moe Park in Winneshiek County, Iowa.

Moe Park is a rural county park that sees little traffic, but features a beautiful natural spring exiting from a stone cliff face. This spring is located in a roadside ditch, and is located low enough that the neighbor’s cows have access to drinking directly from the spring’s waterfall. Most people visit this park and/or drive right past this waterfall without even knowing of its existence. 

I placed my Canon T3i camera on a tripod and used a long exposure of 255 seconds to create this light painted photograph. I used a powerful spotlight and five different colored gel filters to paint light onto the various rock surfaces, trees and water to illuminate and add color to the scene. I really enjoyed taking the time to find the right blend colors to blend onto the water’s surface.

This photograph came off my camera as-is, and involved zero post-processing or Photoshop.
