About this limited edition photograph:

The light painted photograph “Pulpit Rock Herringbone” was created at the Pulpit Rock viewpoint in Will Baker Park in Decorah, Iowa.

To create this light painted photograph I placed my Canon T3i camera on a tripod and I used a long exposure of 746 seconds. I used a red colored gel filter in front of my mini flashlight to trace out all of the mortar lines on the herringbone wall by hand. I then cast some red light onto the three stone pillars to illuminate them as well. The 15 tungsten lights in the background are street lights on the Dug Road Trail below Phelps Park. There was a partial moon in the sky that night, so some of the foreground was illuminated by moonlight.

This photograph came off my camera as-is, and involved zero post-processing or Photoshop.
